Description

From a bird’s-eye view, glacial rivers appear as intricate webs of flowing water, forming intricate patterns and colours that weave together in unusual ways, as seen in this photo. They usually originate at the base of a glacier, where they seek an outlet before flowing into the ocean, carrying with them nutrients in the form of sediment that are essential to ecosystems and vital to surrounding nature.
